We’ve had only one full day with both boys / a family of five.  We’re nowhere near settling in to a routine yet, but everyone has been fed and loved.  That feels like enough of a win for now.

The house is a mess.  We have cords everywhere.  Tons of hospital takeaways and paperwork are piled around.  Between the actual bottles, pump parts, and medicine routine we can fill the sink up every 3 hours, despite my mom’s valiant efforts.

K is handling their arrival surprisingly well so far, but had a two-year old “moment” today.  And if I’m being honest, J and I have had a “moment” here and there ourselves.  I’m generally not my best when I don’t sleep well…and I’m about to learn to function on a new low amount.  (Fortunately, I also recently acquired a taste for coffee…)

Bath time is a group effort…

Since arriving home, we’ll see the 2nd in home nurse tomorrow, and go to a second DR appointment on Monday.  In between…we’re looking a little like a mini NICU ourselves.

But we’re here.  Together.  And in that way things are perfect.
