Day 1 is in the books!  We’ve had a parade of visitors in and out all day.  Here are some of the highlights:

 

We decided on the liquid ketocal formula.  It is a 3:1 ratio.  The recipe for an 8 oz bottle includes:

• 136 g ketocal formula
• 15 g apple juice (not a drop more)
• water to fill it up to 8 oz.

We upped their volume to 30 ml per hour, so 3 bottles of the above is essentially a days worth of food.

I made their days worth of bottles today at lunch time for practice.  I felt like a scientist.

They are testing their blood glucose levels a few times a day, and I’m testing their urine with each diaper change.

No issues so far, but we are very early in the process.

Tomorrow is the official education session.  I’ll learn about mixing meds, and what other oral and topical items are off limits.
