Moments I don’t want to forget:
When the boys were about to be born, we were equally anxious, hopeful, and scared to death. I remember after L was delivered, not hearing a peep from him. Wide eyed, I looked at J, who I could see was equally scared. Then, amidst the chaos, voices, commands, and business of the 20+ medical staff in the room, J heard a tiny cry….and then we heard someone say “he’s breathing”. I started bawling. As they passed by with N we quickly heard the same relieving news…both boys were here and breathing on their own.
The first night, J rolled me down in the wheelchair so I could see and hold the boys. They were tiny, frail, and perfect. I stayed too long and almost passed out as my blood pressure dropped…but it sure was worth it.
Every single day I’ve had with them.
